I built the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE) from an Oxford project into an independent Zurich-based institution. I now work on AI safety in middle powers in the spirit of 'antropofagia' - devouring imported models rather than copying them (as most countries do with the EU AI Act), and building locally rooted knowledge that feeds back into international work, starting with AI-enabled concentration of power.
