I'm an independent researcher and founder of Black Swan Technologies, working where AI verification meets real-world justice. My core method is the anchored agent: a system paired with an external sensor and a correction loop, so it commits only when a task-intrinsic invariant forces the answer and says "I don't know" when it doesn't — the same principle whether the system is a language model or a legal-case engine. I built MA'AT, a blind, calibrated instrument that predicts appellate outcomes from withheld holdings and surfaces wrongful-conviction leads for post-conviction review — verify-or-abstain all the way down, aimed at the people a miscalibrated model harms most. I came to this as a post-conviction paralegal, not an academic; for me the discipline itself is the credential.
