Lucas Irwin

I’m Lucas and I’m currently a summer fellow at GovAI researching AI's economic impacts and a DPhil student at the University of Oxford, co-supervised by the Oxford Martin School AI Governance Initiative (AIGI) and the Engineering Department. I completed my bachelor’s in Computer Science at Princeton University in 2023, and have since worked across a variety of AI engineering and research roles at C3.AI and the Sentient Foundation. My first exposure to AI safety came through taking (and later facilitating) Blue Dot Impact’s AI safety fundamentals courses.
