We get people excited about contributing, help them create a personal action plan, teach them the skills they need to succeed, and continue guiding them until they've achieved their goals.
We do so via scalable online courses and ongoing AI guidance.
There are many field-building organizations working on the common goal of preventing existential outcomes from advanced AI. Naturally, our activities overlap somewhat with those of organizations like BlueDot Impact and 80,000 Hours. We think that's great, and we are happy to learn from their success. At the same time, we bring a uniquely productized approach to capacity-building that we think is highly leveraged. We also fill gaps that other organizations aren't covering as much.

Team
When our founder, Luc, was a student, he founded SOLID, a renewable-energy nonprofit that's still thriving after nine years and has produced a commercial spinoff that raised over €100M. After years focused on climate change, he turned to the risks of advanced AI and founded Lens Academy in December 2025.
After help from some volunteers in our early months, Luc recruited a founding team of talented and mission-driven people, mostly former founders, who have started around June 2026. You can meet the rest of the team here.
Output
Your grant would act as bridge funding, enabling us to continue our operations until we secure a larger grant from CG or SFF. We're already part of SFF's main round and will hear back from them in September, and we will soon apply to Coefficient Giving.
We expect to rapidly grow our number of participants over the next months. Exact numbers and timelines are speculative, mainly due to the nature of product startups and exponential growth. Our expected range is 10k-200k course participants over the next year, though we’re internally aiming for a much more audacious 100k participants per month by Christmas 2026. During the next months we will continue to scale up, improve our courses, and guide people to impact. We suggest not to see this grant as "X USD will enable N course participants" but as a bet on where we will be 6-12 months from now.
Theory of Impact

Our impact = number of participants x impact per participant.
As mentioned in the first question, we get people excited about contributing, help them create a personal action plan, teach them the skills they need to succeed, and continue guiding them until they've achieved their goals.
We can thus approximate our causal chain to impact by:
- Reach many people
- Get them excited about AI Safety
- Help them figure out their path
- Teach them what they need to succeed at their goals
- Help them take actions with positive expected value
We can't predict exactly how our alumni will have impact. Instead, we'll teach them the strategic gear models to understand the landscape and empower them to find their own path.
There our two components of our vision that we want to zoom in on here:
Attract Talent at Scale AI Safety needs more exceptional people, but only a small fraction of worldwide talent has even considered contributing. We think scaling up courses massively is a great way to reach more talent.

Discussion
Working on x risk education is one way to support AGI safety. I think this is highly deserving.
I'm part of the core team. Every day I see how driven everyone on the team is. Everyone believes in the mission enough to work weekends while getting paid essentially nothing. I believe we can do great things, and this funding would help us a lot!
As a Senior Software Developer on the founding team, I've had a front-row seat to how committed everyone is to this mission. People here aren't motivated by salaries, they're motivated by the belief that helping more talented people contribute to AI safety can have an outsized impact. Some teammates have even relocated with their families to lower cost-of-living cities so they could afford to keep working on Lens. I've seen firsthand how much thought, care, and engineering effort goes into building a platform that can genuinely scale. I believe Lens Academy has the potential to become a major force in AI safety field-building, and this bridge funding would help us maintain momentum while we continue growing.

As a Navigator at Lens Academy, I've seen firsthand the impact of its approach to AI safety education. The team is building something thoughtful, scalable, and genuinely valuable, and I'm happy to support their work.
Len Academy's Navigating Superintelligence was amazing for challenging my own views on superintelligence. The AI tutor was also great for active learning and diving deeper into the material. I've also seen how active the team is in the discord in responding to students and working on new features—would definitely say this is a deserving project.
Currently volunteering as a navigator here all the way from Aceh, Indonesia. I think the system really has the potential to multiply its good globally.

Lens Academy is pursuing an ambitious but highly promising approach to AI safety field-building. Its combination of scalable education, measurable learning outcomes, and continued guidance toward concrete action addresses an important gap between initial interest and meaningful contribution. The project is still early, but its product-focused model, rapid execution, and commitment to evaluating real-world impact make it a compelling initiative to support.
