Project Details
Updated 05/18/26 · By grantmaking.aiSquiggle is a domain-specific programming language for probabilistic estimation that runs on JavaScript. It provides native support for probability distributions and Monte Carlo-style simulation, allowing users to express uncertain quantities, propagate uncertainty through models, and compare scenarios. QURI uses Squiggle internally for cost-effectiveness analyses and publishes it as open-source infrastructure for forecasters, evaluators, and grantmakers.
Theory of Change
Updated 05/18/26 · By grantmaking.aiBy giving forecasters, researchers, and grantmakers a lightweight language for expressing uncertainty with probability distributions, Squiggle lowers the barrier to building transparent quantitative models of important decisions, which QURI expects will improve the quality and robustness of reasoning in high-stakes domains.
