Educate everyday people on AI risk, and bring marginalized voices into the global AI conversation.
Our objective is to bring a global shift in public understanding of AI risk through accessible content and equip people to make informed choices about AI. We will:
Make online and offline content to educate about AI risk and help people have conversations on the subject, targeting the audiences other organisations miss - e.g. everyday people with minimal existing knowledge about AI, especially those in the 60+ age bracket.
Center voices from the Global South in the AI discourse, including collecting and sharing AI viewpoints in Africa, creating AI risk education materials in local languages, and providing employment for young people in the AI space.
Create resources and tools for people, like conversation guides and awareness raising activities, to help spread the word about AI risk so they can have meaningful conversations with their friends, families and colleagues and equip themselves to make decisions about their own future with AI.
All of our content will be underpinned AI risk expertise. We currently have two technical engineers/mathematicians that are filling this role.
Operating primarily from Madagascar, a low cost nation, even a moderate sized grant will allow us to fund a sizable, talented local team, and deliver results.
AI will affect everyone’s future yet only a small group of people are calling the shots right now. Meanwhile, AI development continues rapidly, leaving most of the world in the dark about a technology which could harm, or even end humanity. We view this as a huge injustice.
The most successful social change initiatives in history have been achieved through movement-building and mass mobilisation. Most AI safety organisations are looking at technical or policy solutions. We believe the best shot we have of reducing the existential risks posed by AI is broad social awareness of AI risk, equipping people with the education and understanding to make their own choices about the future of AI.
When people understand the stakes of AI, they are more likely to support responsible development, demand stronger oversight, and choose pathways that align with long-term human flourishing.

The minimum amount of USD 40,000 would fund compensation for 7 young Malagasy staff moving into AI risk work, and cover operating costs. This amount is to be split proportionately across the key initiatives described above.
The ideal amount of USD 117,725 would be allocated as above and would allow us to continue this work for a longer period of time.
