Project Details
Updated 07/18/26 · Provided via application · VerifiedTo increase public awareness and shape public opinion on AI regulation, I will create digital and physical pieces of satirical art in the form of 5 videos, 5 live art installations, and 1 faux sales call. My team will consist of a graphic designer, makeup artists, administrative support, a director of photography, and actors. I will leverage my over 650,000 followers across platforms to distribute these videos and track engagement with the content qualitatively, as well as by like/view/share counts and earned media pickup. As a longer-term goal, I hope to see major AI companies and leaders publicly respond to or acknowledge the project, indicating that the critique has reached beyond the mainstream to those in power.
Theory of Impact
Updated 07/18/26 · By grantmaking.aiBehavioral and political change starts with awareness. People can't act on a problem that feels inevitable or that they aren’t aware of. AI's expansion currently feels impending rather than something the public has power over. Comedic satire is unusually effective at building that awareness because entertainment disarms defensiveness: people who would tune out a direct argument about AI risk will watch, laugh at, and share a joke, absorbing the underlying critique without registering it as persuasion.
