Updated 05/18/26 · By grantmaking.aiAISafety.com is the main public-facing platform of Alignment Ecosystem Development (AED), an AI safety field-building nonprofit focused on building and maintaining digital infrastructure for the AI safety ecosystem. The site was built in 2023—with a formative hackathon in September 2023—and publicly announced in May 2024. It functions as a list-of-lists or aggregator, helping relatively new entrants to AI safety navigate the space and find the resources most relevant to their goals, skills, and location.
The platform is organized into ten sections: Events & Training (upcoming programs and conferences), Field Map (a visual overview of the main organizations and projects in AI safety), Communities (online and in-person groups including the AI Alignment Slack with thousands of members), Self-Study (curated courses and study guides), Jobs (open positions in research, policy, and operations), Funding (organizations offering grants and financial support), Media Channels (podcasts, newsletters, and other resources), Advisors (free one-on-one consultation calls with experienced AI safety professionals), Volunteer Projects (tools and projects supporting the ecosystem), and a Donation Guide.
The project is led by Søren Elverlin, a Copenhagen-based software developer and ten-year veteran of the AI safety field who personally funds the project. Additional core team members have included Bryce Robertson (QA and resources management), Melissa Samworth (design and frontend development), and a backend developer known as nemo, along with numerous volunteers. As of late 2025, Bryce Robertson manages the day-to-day operation of AISafety.com.
AED's broader portfolio of projects includes AISafety.world (the AI Existential Safety Map), AISafety.training (a directory of training programs and courses), AISafety.info (an interactive FAQ), and several newsletters including an AI Safety Events & Training newsletter and the AI Safety Funding newsletter (launched December 2025). All are maintained under the AED umbrella with Every.org as fiscal sponsor. The organization is structured around volunteers with a small core team, and has run fundraisers (including a 2024 Manifund campaign) to enable some contributors to move into full-time paid roles.
