Updated 05/18/26 · By grantmaking.aiAI Safety Events & Training is a weekly newsletter launched in August 2023 that aggregates newly announced AI safety events and training programs, covering both online and in-person opportunities globally. It is published on Substack under the AISafety.com brand, which is operated by Alignment Ecosystem Development (AED), a volunteer-driven nonprofit focused on building digital infrastructure for the AI safety field.
The newsletter is maintained primarily by Bryce Robertson, who leads AED and AISafety.com, with contributions from a global team of volunteers. AISafety.com itself was built and initially funded out of pocket by Søren Elverlin, who serves as project lead. The broader AISafety.com platform includes a comprehensive events and training directory, community listings, job board, self-study course directory, funding database, and related newsletters.
As of early 2026, the newsletter has over 2,000 free subscribers. It accepts optional founding memberships for readers who wish to financially support the work. AED received a $91,000 grant from the Survival and Flourishing Fund (SFF) in 2025, via Ashgro, Inc. as fiscal sponsor. Donations are also accepted through Every.org. The organization operates with a distributed volunteer team and no fixed physical location.
