Charalampos Koilakos

I’m a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in artificial intelligence and bioinformatics. My research centers on developing genomic language models that capture long-range patterns and dependencies in DNA, while also advancing the safety, robustness, and interpretability of these systems. Through this work, I aim both to deepen our understanding of genome function across the tree of life and to ensure that genomic AI models are reliable, transparent, and suitable for responsible use in biological research.
