The literature on EPC in the AI safety community is currently at a nascent stage. My present aim is to contribute to the foundational literature on the subject so that researchers and grantmakers have a robust analytical roadmap to orient themselves on chokepoints, trajectory sensitivities, and high-impact intervention strategies when making funding and strategy decisions.
